With just 9 days to go until election day and early voting set to enter its final week, Republican Gov. Brian Kemp and Democratic challenger Stacey Abrams are set to meet for their second and final debate.
The hour-long debate will air live Sunday at 7:00PM ET on WSB-TV. It will be moderated by Channel 2 Action News evening anchor Justin Farmer.
Unlike the Atlanta Press Club debate earlier this month, Libertarian candidate Shane Hazel will not be onstage at Sunday’s debate. This is because he does not meet the polling requirement set by WSB.
“To qualify for this debate, candidates in the race for Georgia’s next governor must hit a 10% threshold from a broad cross section of respected Georgia political polls.”
Kemp is expected to continue to tout his economic agenda and warn voters that his opponent will rubber stamp the Biden administration’s economic policies. Abrams, meanwhile, will continue to attack her Republican rival on issues such as abortion and Medicaid expansion.
The debate comes as a record number of Georgians have already cast their ballots early ahead of election day. More than 1.6 million voters have already voted in the 2022 elections, far exceeding the turnout at this point in the 2018 midterms.
