GA GOP to hold cong. district conventions
The meetings come ahead of the GA GOP's state convention in June
This weekend, Georgia Republicans will hold conventions in each of the state’s 14 congressional districts. The meetings will be held so that delegates can elect executive officers in their respective districts, as well as members of the Georgia Republican Party State Committee. The congressional district meetings will precede the 2021 Georgia Republican Party State Convention, which is set to kick off on June 4. There, delegates will get to vote on the party’s state leadership team. David Shafer, the chairman of the GA GOP, is running for another term as chair. Endorsed by former President Donald Trump, the former State Senator is expected to cruise to another term as chairman of a state party that once again finds itself largely on defense heading into the 2022 elections.
